Happy New Year...
Living on the edge of precipice amid precariously moving fault lines – would this sum up our lives in 2008. Haven’t we witnessed rumble and chaos of this turbulent year leaving all of us in comatose with the finality of gravest uncertainty? The much sought after oases have been exorcised into frozen wastelands and the blue eyed boys have morphed as forgotten Achilles. Worst, we have not yet seen the back of this monster rampaging the vast swathes of our lives. You can’t be an insouciant audience standing on the ring side, watching gladiators fighting it out till their last breath. We all are in the line of fire and it’s wild and indiscriminate. Tested wisdoms have become mothballed myths in these grinding times. That’s why, January 1, 2009 is not just the leaf of a new and glossy calendar, hanging and flipping in your drawing room from tomorrow. This marks the end of a year fraught with gloom and ushers in that little faint ray of hope. The start of new beginning- Haven’t we all heard this cliché umpteen times on the eve of every New Year. Touché! , it still gives me that evasive kick to hope for a better tomorrow. The ritual of having resolutions, opening up of the chocolate boxes, raising the frothing bear mugs and those greetings and wishes, coming all the way from your near and dear ones… don’t we all just love them. You can fee the euphoria in air and there you are, with your spirits soaring new highs. I am just longing for that little break. Let us try to hold on to the ecstasy of that fleeting moment. Who knows that life will never be same again and for the better whatever little it be. Wishing you all the best for the New Year. Do welcome the tomorrow whatever it takes to be. You may only get this time after 365 long days and believe me life is too short to learn from your hindsight. And don’t forget to wish me your best wishes. At least, I need tons of them ….
