O Venkata !!! You too??


Is it the sobering effect of the aftermath of another ' dry' Valentine Day or the News ( Belive it or not !) of Venkata finally walking the altar of Marriage- i was feeling as if someone has pulled the rug off from my feet. Tortuous enough though, i had slowly learnt to make virtue out of neccessity of being " Availble Bachelor" with stiff upper lip. Needless to say, scores of tribes like me were also going through the 'motions' of watching Bachelors turning into Happy Families with a Dodo like indifference. I could still taste the lingering smell of my heart burning into black cinders but still there was an assurance as rock solid as Himalaya. We were not alone groping in this dark bottomless rat hole - Venkata was with us to let that hope alive that everything was not lost yet. We could still count on us as the Men ready to bang with vengenace till Venkata was there with us mouring his stories of lost opportunities , which actually never existed. All of a sudden, that safety valve has busted. He had tipped . He is mo more with us - He is the proud gate crasher in the Legion of Hot Men leaving us in the dire straits of dangerously 'frigid' virgin islands. Last of the refrain is in the tatters now. Who will solace the Gupta, Lal, Verma , Mishra et al with those soothing words, " Don't loose heart Mate! Even Venkata is not married yet." The last of the rat has bolted from the sinking ship.

Come 25th Feb, it will be freedom at midnight for him and final curtains for rest of us otherwise. Who knows, we could hear a quavering voice splattering those historic words again, " Light has been put out from our life tonight forever. Future generatiosn will hardly belive that someone like Venkkata has born in the bones and skeltons , who wore his heart on his sleeves, accepeted bumps of every frustrated lunatic heart with a Christ like forgiveness and never said 'Never' to his perseverence to win a better half for himself with his billion dollor smile."


Life will never be same again without you , Honey . But, we will never let you down. You are still our beacon of hope against any hope. Like you verily said that tomorow never dies. We will also wait for our tommorow if it ever comes. Till then , we will miss u VENKATA ........
